“Know this, mortals. Your sins cannot be atoned. An ancient power sleeps in the heart of Thylea, and when it awakens, the age of Mytros will come to an end. Just as my broken body falls to ruin and decay, so too all mortal things will come to death and darkness. No prophecy will save you.”
The Oracle
Defeated Titan cultist soldiers. The Oracle appeared locked away. Priest Proteus advised against seeking riches or fame (Alexia disagreed). Dimos broke down the door and was attacked by an animated rug that knocked him down (or set him on fire—unclear). Defeated the rug and reached the Oracle standing in a water column. A hag was present.
Sydron’s Command: “Heleka… I bid you now make good upon the oath of service that once you swore me. You know the secret ways through the Forgotten Sea to the cave where my daughter dwells. Find her and bring her to Praxys unharmed, and I will release you from your oath.” - Sydron, Lord of All
The Oracle’s Prophecy
“You warriors who stand here gathered will be tested. The Fates have revealed three great tasks that must be accomplished before you are ready to sail into the three seas and face the Titans.”
Three Great Tasks:
Shape the silver fires of the lost forge to craft needed tools. Dwarves in Estoria know about forges. Must relight the mithril forge.
Claim the mighty weapons wielded against the Titans by the first Dragonlord. Coins to give to an undead guardian.
Drink deep from the bottomless dragon horn (Horn of Balmytria) for a vision the Oracle cannot see.
“But woe unto thee, for I have seen the end of all things. My father’s anger cannot be quelled, and his sister schemes even now. Your quest may yet fail and, if it should, the sky will rain black fire, and the doom of Thylea will come.”
Personal Prophecies
Pyntappon: Find Pythor, King of Estoria, and find mother.
Nikolaos: Seek Damon the Undead, guardian of the necropolis. Visit Cortexan on Scorpion Island (received orange gemstone). The curse affecting your lineage originated on Typhon Island—descend into the volcano’s heart to claim a giant’s belt.
Dimos “The Damned”: The Titans are nervous. Dementia (Oracle’s sister, daughter of Sydron): “My mistress’ aura surrounds you. Three times you will die before you leave this life. You must speak with the Norns (Moirai) about your fate” (possibly dwelling on an island at sea). Lutetia’s curse—three times die and three times be reborn. Knowledge of protection exists, payment required: kill the Oracle, bring a living human child, bring a living nymph, or give your soul. The Sphinx “can only be created by the Norns’ loom.”
Alexandros “The Dragonslayer”: “I see your fate is bound in blood and honor. You shall become a scourge to the evil dragons that plague both mortals and elves. To become this honorable figure and deliver justice for the wrongs done to you and yours, you must seek the Fateweavers. They can give you insight into the weapon meant to fell the setting sun” (found where the lost gears are). The weapon was long ago taken by Sydron, hidden somewhere in his priests’ domain (the islands). Chariot—find the sun god.
Oath of Fellowship
“I am [name], and I swear upon my life and honor that I will uphold the Oath of Fellowship with the heroes who stand at my side.”
